Albany Preschool is a parent cooperative. A Board of Directors composed of current parents, along with the Executive Director and teachers, administers the school. The Board hires the professional staff to develop and supervise the preschool programs, and to be in charge of the daily operation of the school.
We are licensed to have up to 24 children at a time. Due to COVID-19, the children spend most of the program outside, rain or shine, except when the air quality is poor. (In that case the children will be inside with HEPA air filters running continuously and the doors and windows shut.) They are split into two groups to take turns going inside for snack and lunch. As soon as COVID-19 conditions allow, we will resume allowing the children to flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
Enrollment options:
- Half-day: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm, 3 or 5 mornings a week
- Full day: 8 am – 6 pm, Monday through Friday
- Afternoon Only: 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm, 3, 4 or 5 afternoons a week
The School Year Session runs mid-August to early June. The optional Summer Session runs early June to the end of July. We follow the Albany Unified School District calendar for breaks and holidays. Information on the Summer Session is released in April.
